About Galecia Group

The Galecia  Group provides  a range of consulting services from automated materials handling and RFID consulting to GIS application development and website development and hosting.

The Galecia Group has also developed and offers two subscription products: Bookpoints and LibraryCall

Our LibraryCall Dial-A-Story service earned a Modern Library Platinum Award.

LibraryCall enables libraries to reach everyone - not just those with Broadband Internet. LibraryCall was developed because everyone needs access to high-quality stories and information. LibraryCall’s Dial-A-Story and Storytime Direct services provide inclusive English and Spanish stories that libraries can easily deliver by phone and online with our cloud-based services.  Libraries can also offer information over the phone using their smart calendar and resource hotline features.

BookPoints is an open source web application that any library can use to build and manage an online summer reading program!  Our librarian-friendly application is free and easy to use, and hosting and support is available for a low fee. The Galecia Group’s BookPoints team provides support, training and other resources to help maximize summer reading success!

About The GaleciaGroup

Galecia Group Principal, Lori Ayre, MLIS, is recognized by libraries and vendors alike as the de facto authority on the library RFID and automated materials handling market. Lori's services include RFID and AMH analysis and procurement, as well as working with libraries on workflow optimization without the technology component. Consultations often include assessing the physical delivery of material, technology adoption and change management, technology planning and master planning. Many of her projects have her working with architects or municipalities on large library building projects.

Galecia’s Digital Services Unit is headed up by Jim Craner, a veteran software developer with expertise in open source software and open data.  Jim has worked in the non-profit and library industry for over 15 years and has worked exclusively with The Galecia Group since 2010. His responsibilities include strategic technology consulting, project management, and website and application development — with a focus on community and civic technology, open data, GIS/online mapping, and digital skills development.

Madeline Walton-Hadlock, MLIS, LibraryCall Content Development Manager, manages all aspects of content development for the LibraryCall Dial-A-Story product line.

Amanda Jacobs Foust, MLIS, is Galecia's Outreach and Accounts Manager.

Lauren Kratz Prushko, MLIS,  is a Content Developer for our LibraryCall services.

Madeline, Amanda and Lauren are librarians who have worked in the library field for over 15 years.

We are also very pleased to have Anna Suarez working with us a Project Assistant on all Galecia Group projects.
