Leading Innovator of High Density Mobile
Since 1965,
Elecompack has been one of the world's leading innovators of
high density mobile storage systems. Initially developed to
withstand the tremendous seismic requirements of Japan and the rest
of the Pacific Rim, Elecompack's unique design has helped clients
around the world maximize their return on investment.
How do they
do this? By building solutions that can double, and even triple,
your storage capacity, without increasing square footage
requirements. Additionally, Elecompack's products provide efficient
storage that allows you to make additional space available for other
uses (see below).
Elecompack
continually strives to maintain its status as a leader in compact
shelving design, engineering, and quality. Their 10-year warranty is
the longest in the industry, and guarantees your system will be
providing superior service for many years to come.
Read on to
learn more about how Elecompack's products can make your
organization more efficient.

Maximizing Space
Since it's introduction, the
"mobile shelving concept" has provided a cost effective way for users to
maximize capacity, while minimizing space requirements.
Since access is rarely required
to all materials simultaneously, shelving units are compacted together,
reducing wasted space. Instead of aisles between every shelving unit,
aisles are created when and where they are needed within the system.
Using this simple concept, floor requirements can be reduced by as much
as 70%.

The reason for our superior engineering and longer
system life is our unique integrated design. While most other
systems on the market simply attach shelving to mobile carriages,
Elecompack's patented design integrates shelving and carriage
together, providing more strength and less chance for disaster.
But the secret to our design isn't as simple as
that. Across every technical specification, we provide the highest
standards in the industry. If you would like to see more technical
information about what makes Elecompack different,

Applications
The versatility of
the Elecompack system makes it possible to mount virtually any type of
filing or storage equipment on their carriages. With thousands of
Elecompack systems in use throughout the world, they can most likely
refer you to a system that has already solved a storage problem like
yours.

Products
There are basically two types of mobile systems on the market today,
mechanical and electric. The only real difference between the two is the
method by which the carriages are set in motion. All manufacturers are
limited to the same basic systems.
Although both systems operate on the same principle, a mechanical system
is one in which the user provides the power to drive the carriages via
side mounted rotating handles. Across the industry, these handles have
slightly different designs, but they all do the same job: through a
system of gears, they transfer physical effort into movement of the
carriages.
Mechanical systems are the most cost effective as they perform their
duties without the aid of additional electrical motors. They work very
well in all but the most demanding environments. For a more complete
description of Elecompack's mechanical systems,
please

Electrical
Electrical systems require just that, electricity, to power the motors
that drive the carriages. Through a simple push of a button, massive
amounts of weight can be set in motion.
A computer-based security system can
be integrated with the drive system to provide totally automated
detection, safety, and security features.
Although a little more expensive than
mechanical systems, electrical systems provide the utmost in
convenience, performance, and safety for discerning users.

ESS 2002™ Surveillance System
Today,
business and academia face more security considerations than ever
before. Elecompack has developed the first system that will offer a high
level of protection even while staffing levels are at a minimum. Every
activity in every open aisle of all modules will have a visual
monitoring system as well as a permanent visual record of all usage.
Theft and mutilation of material will be virtually eliminated, personal
security will be enhanced while an individual is working or browsing in
an isolated aisle of the compact storage system. Today, with ever
increasing pressures on staffing budgets, you will be able to offer
greater protection with reduced staff.

Avoid Disasters
The photo below was taken shortly
after one of Los Angeles' numerous earthquakes where a competitor's
shelving system sustained serious damage. As the photo shows, the
shelving itself failed, despite the addition of x-braces, which are
designed to protect against "racking" (i.e., side-to-side movement of
the shelving).

"We contacted or
visited over 30 users of various brands of compact shelving prior to making our
final choice of Elecompack. The comments from the users in these installations,
combined with our own working group's thoughts and opinions as a result of
presentations by the manufacturers, resulted in Elecompack being the best
product for Notre Dame."
(Thurston
Miller- chairman - Movable Shelving Working Group - Notre Dame
)

 |
"The University, in
conjunction with the architectural firm of Kehrt Shatken
Sharon, evaluated the compact shelving market rather
extensively before deciding to purchase Elecompack. The
primary reason Princeton selected Elecompack was its overall
structural integrity and safety."
